چکیده

Background and Objectives: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) human immunodeficiency (HIV) infections present significant public health challenges worldwide. The management of these is complicated by the need for antiviral antiretroviral therapies, which are influenced drug metabolism mediated metabolic enzymes transporters. This study focuses on gene expression CYP2B6, CYP3A4, ABCB1 transporters in patients with HIV, HCV, HIV/HCV co-infection, aiming to assess their potential association choice therapy, patohistological clinical parameters liver damage such as stage fibrosis, serum levels ALT AST, well grade inflammation other available biochemical parameters. Materials Methods: included 54 who underwent biopsy, divided into HIV-infected, HCV-infected, co-infected groups. mRNA was quantified compared between groups, along analysis fibrosis levels. Results: results indicated a increase CYP2B6 patients, presence HIV infection an CYP3A4 A trend towards downregulation observed using lamivudine. Conclusions: provides insight patients. absence correlation damage, inflammation, specific treatment interventions emphasises additional research elucidate complex interplay expression, viral pathology, therapeutic responses particular population.
